The purpose of this corner of the website is to inform new international customers, and remind old ones, of our policies for filling their orders. We look forward to a long term relationship with all of you, but it is necessary that you understand and cooperate with these policies in order for us to serve you efficiently.
There are two different shipping methods that we must choose from, depending on the total weight of your order.
Orders from customers outside the USA must be shipped one of these two Air Mail methods, depending on its total weight. That is why Shipping Options available to USA customers, e.g. 'First Class Mail,' 'Media Mail,' or 'UPS,' are not available to non-USA customers.
The USA post office eliminated Surface Mail shipping options midway through 2007. Now packages weighing four pounds or less must be shipped 'Air Mail First Class,' and packages weighing more than four pounds must be shipped 'Priority Air Mail.'
Regardless of the Shipping Method used to ship your order, all orders are insured against loss or damage.
We have created a special Shipping Method option for our non-USA customers who order 1-6 items.
Please choose this Shipping Option for orders consisting of 1-6 items. Canadians will be charged a flat fee of $9.00 for these smaller, light-weight orders, and all other countries will be charged a flat fee of $11.00.
By contrast, orders from non-USA customers consisting of 7 items or more will not be assessed a shipping charge at the time the order is placed, but must be assessed and charged later. Why?
Because it is impossible to accurately predict the true cost to ship larger non-USA orders until they have been picked, packed, and weighed.
These heavier and larger orders from non-USA customers will initially be charged only for the products purchased.
After these larger, heavier orders have been picked, packed, and weighed, customers outside the USA will be charged the actual cost (+3%) to ship the order 'Priority Air Mail' insured.
If it is a small package weighing less than four pounds it will be shipped 'Air Mail First Class,' and customers will be charged for the actual cost (+3%) to ship the order 'Air Mail First Class.'
Most of the time orders consisting of 1-6 items can be shipped in a standard shipping container at a predictable cost of $9.00 (Canada), or $11.00 (all other non-North American countries).
However, non-North American orders for more than 1-6 items that weigh less than four pounds will be shipped 'Air Mail First Class,' and customers will be charged the actual cost (+3%).
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You may order using a
charge card by email or mail. We do not recommend placing orders by phone.
The minimum order requirement for all orders from International customers is
$50.00.
If you wish to place your order by email you may use our "SHOPPING CART ORDERING
SYSTEM". When placing your order using this system please select
'International' when making your postage select.
There is also a place on our shopping cart order form to type in the
International shipping method you have selected (Air Letter Post or Air Parcel
Post). Please type this information into the "Comments" section of our order
form.
For customers who do not have or do not wish to use charge cards are require to
send payment by International Money Order drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. dollars.
These IMOs must have what is called a nine digit routing number on them, and
the name and address of the U.S. bank issuing the IMO must be clearly printed
on it. Please make sure the IMOs you send us meet these criteria. Also please
make sure the fee for converting your currency to U.S. dollars is not deducted
from the total due. We realize it is expensive for you to pay for the service
of converting to U.S. dollars, but it is a cost of doing business with overseas
companies you must pay for if you do not use a charge card.
In this case it is necessary to furnish you with pro forma invoices before they
send payment for orders they have sent to us. The reason for pro forma invoices
is simple. We cannot charge postage rates up front as we do with charge card
orders because the rates vary widely between surface and air, and from country
to country.
When International orders come in we must delete from the sub-total the items we
cannot currently supply. We're sure you realize that some of the time the items
you order are out of stock or out of print. Then the order must be picked,
packed, sealed, taken to the post office and weighed, and set aside. Then we
must send a pro forma invoice to you, quoting a sub-total for shippable product
plus freight, according to the shipping method you indicate you prefer. Please
understand that this means you may not add items to or subtract items from your
order once you send it. Once we have sent you a pro forma invoice your order is
safely set aside, ready to go as soon as payment arrives. Even the customs
paperwork is done. We are not willing to tear open an order to make additions
to or subtractions from it.
One of the consequences of living in another country and buying products shipped
to you from the USA is the responsibility to pay duty when the shipment is
cleared by customs. We also must pay duty when products we purchase from
non-USA suppliers clear USA Customs.
We know that you do not want to pay duty, but there is little that we can do to
address this problem without breaking the law. We have no control over how duty
is assessed. Customs officers expect to find the actual paperwork with each
shipment, and have the authority to refuse to deliver the package if they do
not. We will not underdeclare the value of your order. This is wrong. We cannot
break the law to try to save you duty.
We will not declare the value of your shipment zero by claiming that it should
be duty free because they are product samples of no commercial value or a gift.
When Custom Officials see our fancy pre-printed shipping label they will know
that it is a commercial transaction, not a gift.
Many of you are sophisticated enough to know that shipments weighing less than
four pounds can be sent "air small packet" rate, which is much cheaper than the
rate for air mail packages weighing more than four pounds. However, do not
request that we break your order up into smaller packages that each weigh less
than four pounds to help you get cheaper air mail rates and little or no duty.
Also, please do not ask us to disassemble your CDs to save on shipping costs.
Jewel boxes exist to prevent damage to the CDs and paper sleeves inside.
