Idle Cure was a Southern California-based commercial hard rock band whose members had serious day jobs and careers that dissuaded them from touring, so radio was key to breaking them, and radio did its job well. Frontline Records signed them in the mid-80s and released four albums plus a 'best of' before the band signed with another label. Think of them as CCM's answer to Kiss. Like much of the great rock/metal of the 80s, Idle Cure's music is a combination of aggressive guitars and keyboards, tempered with pop sensibilities, led by the soaring, raspy vocals of Steve Shannon. The lyrics rhyme and all the lines are balanced, so saying their sound is 'polished' is an understatement. Their fourth album, Inside Out, was originally released by Frontline Records in 1991. Fans of Foreigner, Petra, Novella and Legend will love these guys. Songs include: 'We've Lost Ground,' 'Who Cries For Me,' 'Holy Mountain,' 'Mind Games,' 'Redline,' 'Innocent Again,' 'I Will Hold On,' 'Where Is the Love,' 'The Higher We Climb' and 'Tear Down the Walls.' 10 songs TT: 40:20
